At Keystone Montessori School, your child will experience all of the benefits of an authentic Montessori education.

Our guides are Montessori-trained professionals.

They’ve completed rigorous training in child development and understand how children learn. They love what they do and continue to learn through professional development.

The Montessori classroom environment is rich with materials uniquely designed for children.

Based on years of scientific research, the Montessori classroom is an inviting space rich with materials and furniture uniquely designed for children. From the sinks to the toilets to the tables, all are made to fit your child perfectly, supporting your child’s developing independence and confidence.

Children learn by doing.

Children are exposed to hundreds of specially designed materials that invite hands-on exploration. They will choose what they want to explore, creating strong neural pathways that contribute to the construction of a strong brain.

The curriculum adapts to your child.

We recognize that children have their own unique timetable for development and will learn different parts of the curriculum when they are ready. We teach to the individual needs of your child, not to the entire class or to a group of children.

We support parents too!

We take seriously the notion that children thrive when home and school work in harmony. To that end, we offer parent education throughout the year.

You’ll not likely find other programs that offer the same benefits. Here’s why:

Traditional school programs are adult-centered.

The teacher or adult in charge of the classroom will decide what the classroom does and when. The child does not have any choice in how they would like to spend their time, and they will not get to explore their unique interests. Some children fall behind because of this model.

Lack of highly-trained staff.

Many schools do not require the same standards of training as Montessori institutions. Because of this, they often lack the in-depth understanding and knowledge of a young child’s developmental needs.

Developmental needs are not a priority.

Many traditional models are focused on entertaining the child and filling time. They use toys and group activities to get through the day instead of focusing on the developmental learning needs of the child.

The curriculum is not adaptable.

Many traditional school environments are not designed around how children learn best, nor do they take into account that all children learn differently and at their own pace.

Parent Reviews

"Our daughter Tenaya enrolled in Keystone Montessori for preschool starting in September 2019 when she was two years old, and just recently finished in July  2023 when she entered Kindergarten at Madera Elementary School.  Tenaya was in all three classes at Keystone - the Sandpipers, Blue Herons, and Snowy Egrets.  She was at Keystone for the entirety of the pandemic. We've had the opportunity to see and experience Keystone operate in normal conditions and under exceptional circumstances.

Through all of this, the school's concern for Tenaya and her well- being has stood out. Tenaya  connected with the teachers at the school, seeing them with affection as caregivers and teachers..  Furthermore, the school was well organized and supplied, and made extra effort to enliven the children's time with activities as diverse as language classes, music class, and Friday afternoon dance parties in the playground area.  The latter being something Tenaya still brings up!  Therefore we are writing this letter in support of Keystone Montessori, Director Rohini Pathak and the staff, to share our positive experience in almost four years at Keystone."

"Kian started at Keystone shortly after he turned 18 months old. Even though it was in the middle of the pandemic we knew he was ready for more social experiences. He took to it right away and loved being at Keystone. As parents, there was no time in which we felt like he wasn’t in good hands at school. We’re all so grateful for everything he learned, the friends he met, the teachers he had, and everything Keystone did for our family!"

"Dear Rohini, thank you for everything over the last 3+ years. I’ve seen Ethan become a much more confident version of himself while at Keystone. We’ve made some great friends and have had a lot of fun throughout our time there. It’s sad to leave!"
