Miss Julie

Head Teacher

Hello, I'm Julie Heitman. I was born in Mandalay, Burma, and grew up in Rangoon, where I discovered my passion for tennis, eventually becoming the #1 ranked player in the country. This led to my recruitment by Stetson University, an NCAA Division 1 school, where I was named MVP in 1991. After college, I transitioned to coaching tennis before becoming a stay-at-home mom, where I homeschooled my children using the Montessori method. This experience revealed my true calling—teaching young children.

Following my children to their Montessori school, I became a certified Montessori teacher and have since enjoyed 26 years in the teaching world. My love for teaching continues to grow, and I embrace every opportunity to learn more.

A fun fact: Since 2018, I’ve traded my tennis rackets for pickleball paddles. I now play pickleball at least three times a week, competing nationally, and I proudly hold a US Open gold medal from 2021.
